Made with specially selected Organic Cold Pressed Argan Oil, Organic CO2 extracted Pomegranate & Wild Crafted CO2 Extracted Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil, this serum is indulgent and rich as it is not diluted with less expensive carrier oils such as Jojoba, Olive or Sweet Almond oils. I have selected these truly precious oils because they are so naturally rich in anti-oxidants, unsaturated fatty acids (like Omega 6) and vitamins (A, C and E). They contain at least 3 times as much nutrients as Olive Oil, and thus are much more effective in treating and nourishing your skin.

Blended with 100% pure essential oils of Rose, Sandalwood, Lavender, Geranium and Rosewood to further enhance its anti-aging and skin nourishing properties.

This is potent stuff, so a little goes a long way! If you have dry or mature skin, use this serum every night as it will nourish your skin and help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Use only a few drops at a time, just enough to thinly coat your skin, then massage it in until it is absorbed into your skin.

If you have oily or acne prone skin, this serum will help to reduce scars, but apply sparingly and only to the areas with scars.

Directions: Gently massage 3 - 5 drops onto cleansed skin as a night time treatment. Use more if you dry skin, and less if you have oily skin. If you have dry skin, you can apply your moisturizer after applying the serum. For best results, use in conjunction with Back to Basics range of skin care. If you're using our "SILK & PEARLS" Luxurious Face Treatment Powder, wait about 1 minute for the serum to absorb into your skin before applying the powder.

Note: This serum can last for up to 3 months from date of purchase if kept in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Avoid touching your skin with the dropper tip to avoid contamination.

Important Note: Rose oil has emmenagogue properties, meaning that it has the ability to assist in promoting menstruation (menses) and regulating the monthly discharge. Although this makes the oil very helpful in treating problems of this nature, it should be avoided in pregnancy. If you're pregnant, do let me know and I will not include it into the serum.

Argon Oil 

Argania spinosa  Extra Virgin.cold pressed oil from Morocco,  ECOCERT Certified Organic. An artisian oil, produced by a women's cooperative.

Argan oil, liquid gold, is rich in poly-unsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid, Omega 6, and natural tocopherols.  It is said to be nourishing, regenerating and protective for all skin types.

Thanks to its exceptional content of unsaturated fatty acids, Argan Oil helps in the restoration of the hydro-lipidic film of the skin. The hydrolipidic film is the skin's natural protective barrier. It consists of aqueous substances (water) and oils produced by the sebaceous glands. The function of the hydrolipidic film is to retain moisture and to protect against the entrance of germs and fungi into the skin. An intact hydrolipidic film maintains the skin's natural suppleness.

Linoleic acid, which is one of the omega-6 fatty acids, is present in Argan Oil at a concentration three times higher than in olive oil. As an essential fatty acid, it has a key role in preserving cell integrity. The particularly high content of natural tocopherols (Vitamin E) gives the oil excellent anti-free radical and anti-stress activities and natural self-protection against oxidation.

Pomegranate Seed Oil

A wonderful CO2 extracted light oil... quickly absorbed into the skin, leaving behind a very faint aroma reminiscent of melted baking chocolate. CO2 (carbon dioxide) extracted oils are purer and contain more nutrients than cold pressed oils, and because it is a more cleaner and more complicated extraction process, such oils are considerably more expensive than their cold pressed counterparts.

The benefits of this delightful oil are limitless - it is beneficial to nearly all skin types; research is showing it to be helpful in fighting both skin and breast cancer in laboratory tests.

Pomegranate seed extract and juice have been popular lately for their anti-oxidant properties, and pomegranate seed oil is proving to be even more beneficial. Not only does pomegranate seed oil contain high levels of anti-oxidants that fight free radicals and skin aging, but the oil is also a potent source of punicic and ellagic acids. Because of these properties, pomegranate seed oil is used to heal, protect, and moisturize dry, cracked, mature, and irritated skin, bring elasticity back to the skin, and for eczema and other skin problems. If pomegranate seed oil seems expensive, consider that over 200 pounds of fresh pomegranates are used to produce just one pound of pomegranate seed oil! 

Pomegranate seed oil is commonly used in high-end cosmetic products to revitalize dull or mature skin, assist with wrinkles, and to soothe minor skin irritations. Without moisture, wrinkles become more abundant and pronounced, the skin looks tight and lacks luster. Pomegranate seed oil adds moisture, has natural estrogenic properties, anti-oxidants, is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, improves skin elasticity, and protects the skin. It provides relief from minor skin irritations and inflammation, including dry skin, eczema, psoriasis and sunburned skin.

Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil

Hippophae rhamnoides Lithuania, Berries, Wild Crafted, CO2 Extraction. Total extracted from pulp, not from the kernel.

Contains: 30% palmitoleic acid, carotinoids (including a high level of beta-carotine), tocopherols, alcohols, (vitamins A, C and E). 1900 IU of Provitamine A per gram of extract. 

Sea Buckthorn Berry has been used by herbalists for millenia. This extraction has only recently become available and seems to be taking the natural skincare industry by storm. Many of the wellknown "Natural Cosmetics" companies include Sea Buckthorn Berry in their skincare products, as a search of the web will quickly show you. 

Bio-active substances in the oil from the seed and pulp are used in a variety of dermatological applications, among them anti-aging face creams and lotions and (since the extract seems to absorb UV rays) in sun care products.This marvelous oil has copious amounts of Phytosterol, Vitamin E, Beta-Carotene, Anti-Oxidants, and Carotenoid which helps to substantiate its relatively high success rate as a skin repairing and conditioning oil. 

Sea Buckthorn has been traditionally used for a wide range of skin ailments for its revered nourishing, regenerative, and restorative actions. Sea Buckthorn oil is used superficially to assist in healing skin injuries, burns, wounds, eczema, lesions, sun damaged skin, and abrasions. 

Much of the Sea Buckthorn Berry extract on the market today is from China. The Chinese extractions are lower priced, but are extracted from the kernel, not the pulp of the berry. These extractions have significantly lower levels of the tocopherols, and practically no Vitamin C. They are so low in Vitamin E that the producer is adding Rosemary Extract in an attempt to preserve them. Note that the oil I'm using is from Lithuania, and is 100% extracted from the pulp, not the kernel.

Rose Otto Hydro-Distilled Oil (Rosa damascena)

It takes about 60,000 roses (about 180 lb) to make one ounce ( 29.57 ml) of rose otto - or to put in a different way 40,000 kilograms to make 1 liter of rose otto. No wonder it is one of the most expensive essential oils in the world!

Rose oil has a deep, fresh rosy aroma and is greatly prized in the perfumery industry. It stimulates the skin, while moisturizing and hydrating, boosting all skin types and being particularly beneficial to dry, mature and sensitive skin. It helps to reduce skin redness, fight inflammations, as well as fix broken capillaries on the skin and also acts as a general skin tonic with its astringent properties.

Pure Mysore Sandalwood Essential Oil (Santalum Album)

The Mysore sandalwood oil is known to be the best and most expensive of all the sandalwood varieties, and is also one of the most expensive essential oils in the market. It is also highly prized in perfumery, having a woody, exotic smell that is subtle, lingering and long lasting.

On the skin, sandalwood oil relieves itching and inflammation of the skin, and is most effective in relieving dehydrated skin - making it great for anti-ageing skincare - and the astringent action has a great toning effect and is also used with great results in oily skin conditions and to prevent the skin from forming ugly scars and for fighting dry eczema.

Rosewood Essential Oil (Aniba rosaeodora)

Rosewood oil has a balancing action on skin, which promotes proper hydration and moisturizing of the skin. It is of great benefit in combating a dull or sallow complexion and for sorting out dry or overly oily, sensitive and inflamed skin. The main therapeutic properties of the oil are antiseptic, anti-bacterial, stimulant and tonic, but the main benefit and the reason why we include it in our formulas is for it to help with rejuvenating the skin.

Geranium Essential Oil (Pelargonium graveolens)

In skincare, it is mostly used to balance the skin and to create a balance between oily and dry skin, since it has the unique properties to balance sebum production in the skin (because it is an adrenal cortex stimulant), making it invaluable for those with combination, dry, dehydrated, or oily skin. Due to this balancing action, it helps to boost and improve the elasticity of the skin.
For people suffering with acne, who are burdened with an over-oily, as well as congested and sluggish skin, geranium is a God-send, as it not only helps to reduce sebum production and return it to normal levels, it also helps to clear the congestion from the skin.Geranium essential oil also calms irritated skin, clearing acne, boosting poor circulation, and helping to sort out bruises, burns, cuts and eczema.
