This special blend of the purest natural oils and essential oils is formulated to come to your rescue with benefits such as:
  • Deeply Nourishing, Moisturizing & Rejuvenating Skin
  • Heals & Fades Scars
  • Soothes Sensitive Skin
  • Reduces Fine Lines & Wrinkles
  • Non-Comedogenic: Will not clog pores.
Made with specially selected Organic Cold Pressed Argan Oil, Organic CO2 extracted Pomegranate & Wild Crafted CO2 Extracted Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil, this serum is indulgent and rich as it is not diluted with less expensive carrier oils such as Jojoba, Olive or Sweet Almond oils. I have selected these truly precious oils because they are so naturally rich in anti-oxidants, unsaturated fatty acids (like Omega 6) and vitamins (A, C and E). They contain at least 3 times as much nutrients as Olive Oil, and thus are much more effective in treating and nourishing your skin.

Blended with 100% pure essential oils of Rose, Sandalwood, Lavender, Geranium and Rosewood to further enhance its anti-aging and skin nourishing properties.

This is potent stuff, so a little goes a long way! If you have dry or mature skin, use this serum every night as it will nourish your skin and help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Use only a few drops at a time, just enough to thinly coat your skin, then massage it in until it is absorbed into your skin.

If you have oily or acne prone skin, this serum will help to reduce scars, but apply sparingly and only to the areas with scars.

Directions: Gently massage 3 - 5 drops onto cleansed skin as a night time treatment. Use more if you dry skin, and less if you have oily skin. If you have dry skin, you can apply your moisturizer after applying the serum. For best results, use in conjunction with Back to Basics range of skin care. If you're using our "SILK & PEARLS" Luxurious Face Treatment Powder, wait about 1 minute for the serum to absorb into your skin before applying the powder.

Note: This serum can last for up to 3 months from date of purchase if kept in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Avoid touching your skin with the dropper tip to avoid contamination.

Ingredients: Organic Cold Pressed Argan Oil, Organic CO2 Extracted Pomegranate Seed Oil, Wild Crafted Cold Pressed Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil, 100% Pure Essential Oils of Bulgarian Rose, Sandalwood, Lavender, Geranium and Rosewood.

Important Note: Rose oil has emmenagogue properties, meaning that it has the ability to assist in promoting menstruation (menses) and regulating the monthly discharge. Although this makes the oil very helpful in treating problems of this nature, it should be avoided in pregnancy. If you're pregnant, do let me know and I will not include it into the serum.

More Information on the ingredients:

Argon Oil
Argania spinosa  Extra Virgin.cold pressed oil from Morocco,  ECOCERT Certified Organic. An artisian oil, produced by a women's cooperative.

Argan oil, liquid gold, is rich in poly-unsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid, Omega 6, and natural tocopherols.  It is said to be nourishing, regenerating and protective for all skin types.

Thanks to its exceptional content of unsaturated fatty acids, Argan Oil helps in the restoration of the hydro-lipidic film of the skin. The hydrolipidic film is the skin's natural protective barrier. It consists of aqueous substances (water) and oils produced by the sebaceous glands. The function of the hydrolipidic film is to retain moisture and to protect against the entrance of germs and fungi into the skin. An intact hydrolipidic film maintains the skin's natural suppleness.

Linoleic acid, which is one of the omega-6 fatty acids, is present in Argan Oil at a concentration three times higher than in olive oil. As an essential fatty acid, it has a key role in preserving cell integrity. The particularly high content of natural tocopherols (Vitamin E) gives the oil excellent anti-free radical and anti-stress activities and natural self-protection against oxidation.

Argan Oil is widely used by Moroccan women for skin, hair and nail care and has been so for centuries. Many traditional beauty secrets are based on Argan Oil. When applied to the skin Argan Oil penetrates rapidly leaving an extraordinary softness and sensory feel.

Other skin benefits of Argan oil include:
Excellent anti-free radical effect for a preventive anti-ageing effect.
Nourishes dry skin with a tendency towards eczema by helping to  restore the skin's protective barrier
A sebum regulator/balancer for oily or combination skin

Pomegranate Seed Oil
CO2 extracted, Punica granatum seed extract, Certified Organic

A wonderful CO2 extracted light oil... quickly absorbed into the skin, leaving behind a very faint aroma reminiscent of melted baking chocolate. CO2 (carbon dioxide) extracted oils are purer and contain more nutrients than cold pressed oils, and because it is a more cleaner and more complicated extraction process, such oils are considerably more expensive than their cold pressed counterparts.

The benefits of this delightful oil are limitless - it is beneficial to nearly all skin types; research is showing it to be helpful in fighting both skin and breast cancer in laboratory tests.

Pomegranate seed extract and juice have been popular lately for their anti-oxidant properties, and pomegranate seed oil is proving to be even more beneficial. Not only does pomegranate seed oil contain high levels of anti-oxidants that fight free radicals and skin aging, but the oil is also a potent source of punicic and ellagic acids. Because of these properties, pomegranate seed oil is used to heal, protect, and moisturize dry, cracked, mature, and irritated skin, bring elasticity back to the skin, and for eczema and other skin problems. If pomegranate seed oil seems expensive, consider that over 200 pounds of fresh pomegranates are used to produce just one pound of pomegranate seed oil!
Pomegranate seed oil is commonly used in high-end cosmetic products to revitalize dull or mature skin, assist with wrinkles, and to soothe minor skin irritations. Without moisture, wrinkles become more abundant and pronounced, the skin looks tight and lacks luster. Pomegranate seed oil adds moisture, has natural estrogenic properties, anti-oxidants, is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, improves skin elasticity, and protects the skin. It provides relief from minor skin irritations and inflammation, including dry skin, eczema, psoriasis and sunburned skin.

Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil
Hippophae rhamnoides Lithuania, Berries, Wild Crafted, CO2 Extraction. Total extracted from pulp, not from the kernel.

Contains: 30% palmitoleic acid, carotinoids (including a high level of beta-carotine), tocopherols, alcohols, (vitamins A, C and E). 1900 IU of Provitamine A per gram of extract.

Sea Buckthorn Berry has been used by herbalists for millenia. This extraction has only recently become available and seems to be taking the natural skincare industry by storm. Many of the wellknown "Natural Cosmetics" companies include Sea Buckthorn Berry in their skincare products, as a search of the web will quickly show you.

Bio-active substances in the oil from the seed and pulp are used in a variety of dermatological applications, among them anti-aging face creams and lotions and (since the extract seems to absorb UV rays) in sun care products. This marvelous oil has copious amounts of Phytosterol, Vitamin E, Beta-Carotene, Anti-Oxidants, and Carotenoid which helps to substantiate its relatively high success rate as a skin repairing and conditioning oil.

Sea Buckthorn has been traditionally used for a wide range of skin ailments for its revered nourishing, regenerative, and restorative actions. Sea Buckthorn oil is used superficially to assist in healing skin injuries, burns, wounds, eczema, lesions, sun damaged skin, and abrasions.

Much of the Sea Buckthorn Berry extract on the market today is from China. The Chinese extractions are lower priced, but are extracted from the kernel, not the pulp of the berry. These extractions have significantly lower levels of the tocopherols, and practically no Vitamin C. They are so low in Vitamin E that the producer is adding Rosemary Extract in an attempt to preserve them. Note that the oil I'm using is from Lithuania, and is 100% extracted from the pulp, not the kernel.

Rose Otto Hydro-Distilled Oil (Rosa damascena)
It takes about 60,000 roses (about 180 lb) to make one ounce ( 29.57 ml) of rose otto - or to put in a different way 40,000 kilograms to make 1 liter of rose otto. No wonder it is one of the most expensive essential oils in the world!
Rose oil has a deep, fresh rosy aroma and is greatly prized in the perfumery industry. It stimulates the skin, while moisturizing and hydrating, boosting all skin types and being particularly beneficial to dry, mature and sensitive skin. It helps to reduce skin redness, fight inflammations, as well as fix broken capillaries on the skin and also acts as a general skin tonic with its astringent properties.

Pure Mysore Sandalwood Essential Oil (Santalum Album)
The Mysore sandalwood oil is known to be the best and most expensive of all the sandalwood varieties, and is also one of the most expensive essential oils in the market. It is also highly prized in perfumery, having a woody, exotic smell that is subtle, lingering and long lasting.

On the skin, sandalwood oil relieves itching and inflammation of the skin, and is most effective in relieving dehydrated skin - making it great for anti-ageing skincare - and the astringent action has a great toning effect and is also used with great results in oily skin conditions and to prevent the skin from forming ugly scars and for fighting dry eczema.

Rosewood Essential Oil (Aniba rosaeodora)
Rosewood oil has a balancing action on skin, which promotes proper hydration and moisturizing of the skin. It is of great benefit in combating a dull or sallow complexion and for sorting out dry or overly oily, sensitive and inflamed skin. The main therapeutic properties of the oil are antiseptic, anti-bacterial, stimulant and tonic, but the main benefit and the reason why we include it in our formulas is for it to help with rejuvenating the skin.

Geranium Essential Oil (Pelargonium graveolens)
In skincare, it is mostly used to balance the skin and to create a balance between oily and dry skin, since it has the unique properties to balance sebum production in the skin (because it is an adrenal cortex stimulant), making it invaluable for those with combination, dry, dehydrated, or oily skin. Due to this balancing action, it helps to boost and improve the elasticity of the skin.
For people suffering with acne, who are burdened with an over-oily, as well as congested and sluggish skin, geranium is a God-send, as it not only helps to reduce sebum production and return it to normal levels, it also helps to clear the congestion from the skin.Geranium essential oil also calms irritated skin, clearing acne, boosting poor circulation, and helping to sort out bruises, burns, cuts and eczema.

Lavender Essential Oil
(Lavandula angustifolia)
On the skin, lavender oil tones and revitalizes and it is useful for all types of skin problems such as abscesses, acne, oily skin, boils, burns, sunburn, wounds, psoriasis, lice, insect bites, stings and also acts as an insect repellent.

More Information On Silk & Pearl Powder:

Silk Cocoons Used To Make Silk Powder
SILK POWDER
Derived from pure silk worm cocoon, quality silk powder is silk that is synthetically ground down and processed to remove impurities. It is then converted into a fine, yellowish or pinkish fine powder using a sophisticated technology that retains the silk protein's natural amino acids and lipids, which benefit the skin and body.

Silk has been used in body care and massage for thousands of years. In ancient folkloric Chinese medicine, silk was so gentle and ideal for sensitive and healing skin, silk cocoons, from which silk powder is derived, was used by ancient health practitioners to care and dress wounds.

In Ayurveda medicine, from Sanskrit India, silk powder was used during special massage techniques. After applying and rubbing nourishing oil onto the skin, a thin application of silk powder was dusted on the skin, followed by a gentle yet invigorating massage with pure silk gloves. The application of the silk was thought to deeply stimulate the muscle tissue. Silk powder and liquid was also used as an ancient and natural relief to sunburn.

The modern cosmetics industry has lately been marketing the benefits of silk. After all, who doesn't love the texture and softness of silk on the skin?

On the skin, silk powder radiates and reflects UV rays, acting as a natural sunscreen. It is able to superbly retain the skin's natural moisture, preventing dryness, while absorbing excess sebum. For the acne prone, silk even contains anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Good quality silk powder also contains many amino acids, like alanine, glycine and serine, which are the building blocks of protein and are essential to the skin's natural moisturization process. Pure silk is also ideal for sensitive skin, and balances the skin's ph levels.

Silk powder, liquid silk or silk proteins are added in many cosmetics products. Upscale body lotions and scrubs use silk powder or liquid silk to moisturize, nourish and enliven the skin, and improve radiance and clarity. Silk infused hair care products improve the hair's natural luminosity, softness and elasticity.

Tiny Pearls Used To Make Pearl Powder
HISTORY OF PEARL POWDER
For more than 3,000 years, women in Asia used crushed pearls (pearl powder) to maintain their youthful appearance. Recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, pearl powder has been highly regarded by doctors and herbalists as a valuable health remedy. It is widely used in nutritional preparations and beauty aids.

Royalties of the Imperial Palace swore by the miraculous rejuvenating effects of pearl powder. The Empress Dowage of Ching Dynasty China was famous for her beauty and her child-like porcelain skin even at the age of 74. Her beauty secret was using pearl powder diligently everyday.

WHY AND HOW DOES PEARL POWDER WORK
Pearl powder is a finely milled powder from quality fresh water pearls. It is naturally compatible and easily absorbed by the skin and body. Proven safe to ingest and apply to skin directly.

Pearl powder contains about 18 amino acids and over a dozen minerals. Including 10 essential amino acids necessary for the human body to heal and maintain cell nutrition. These essential building blocks of collagen and protein each has a specific function. Deficiency of any one of the key amino acids causes the skin to look coarse, depleted, old, and wrinkled.

Traditionally recognized benefits of using pearl powder products include: Healing, skin brightening, anti-wrinkle, and sun protection.

Other anti-aging benefits: Helps to promote cell renewal, enhance elasticity, improve circulation, calming and detoxification, protects from environmental radicals, regulates skin discoloration, and smooths skin texture.

Testimonial By Kristin

Sent via email on 15 June 2011:

"Honestly, after using many commercial brand facial cleansers, I felt as if my face was 'not clean' after using the Flower Power 3-in-1 Facial Cleansing Powder, Scrub & Mask. But I realise that good cleansers are supposed to be like that - they don't leave the tight feeling. My face is very oily, so I followed your advise (whenever I could) to leave the paste longer so that excess sebum could be absorbed.

I chose the Spotless 2-in-1 Toner & Moisturiser and I love it to bits! I had a few pimples on my face and they dried out very quickly.

My face stays matte for a longer time compared to the products I've used before. But I also understand that I have the responsibility to keep my face less oily as possible by using blotters and eating healthy.

I usually apply compact powder on my face and don't use makeup. Taking your advise, I've started using mineral powder and I have to agree that it's certainly better than the compact powders I've been using!

You can be rest assured that you'll be getting an e-mail from me for my next order."

 Thanks Kristin!

COMING SOON... SILK AND PEARL FACE TREATMENT POWDER

Can you imagine putting pearls and silk on your face?!

Not only are they great as fine jewelry and clothes, they are also super nutritious for the skin! Bet you didn't know that pearl and silk powders are loaded with essential minerals, amino acids and lipids... Amazing isn't it?!

So you can tell that I am a bit excited about this new product of mine... and I can't wait for my shipment to arrive... you can expect this superb skin enhancing powder to be ready for sale in about 2 weeks time. As always, this powder will only contain pure silk powder and pure pearl powder... maybe just a little superfine French yellow and pink clay powder to make it blend in better with most skin tones, no fillers (such as kaolin clay, rice flour, corn flour, etc) and no preservatives. I may add a bit of Geranium or Lavender Essential oil for the beautifully relaxing aroma and skin balancing properties.

This powder is meant as a face treatment powder, and so can be used as a face primer (before make up) and as a treatment powder before bed.

In the mean time, let's learn more about the beautiful pearl and the luxurious silk shall we...

COMING SOON... PRECIOUS OILS FACE SERUM

I always said that virgin olive oil makes a great face serum, and that is true. However, for those who want a truly luxurious and exotic (and very effective) face serum, this Precious Oils Face Serum will be the perfect choice.

I've been sourcing the world (through the www of course) for the best natural oils to make the perfect face serum, and I did not want to compromise on quality. So after weeks of thorough research, I have come up with a blend that I can confidently guarantee is made up of only the best quality oils on the market (which of course don't come cheap!). The oils I've chosen are certified organic, and are truly of the highest quality.

I can safely say that this special blend is concentrated, that is it won't be diluted with other cheaper oils, and so you will not find any one like it on the market. Even the more expensive skin care lines mostly are very much diluted, as you'll only need to read the ingredients list to know.

My Precious Oils Face Serum will benefit all skin types. Made up of non-comodegenic oils, it will not clog pores. This special blend is super rich in anti-oxidants and nutrients, giving your skin a natural boost to nourish, heal and repair. Scars will be visibly reduced and skin will be radiantly smooth. Truly an anti-aging miracle, it will help to reduce wrinkles and fine lines...Experience the pure power of nature at your finger tips...read on and you'll understand why...

Below are the ingredients of the Precious Oils Face Serum:

1. Argon Oil

If you're pregnant, do let me know and I will use the safe Lavender essential oil instead. Lavender oil is also good for the skin as it tones and revitalizes and it is useful for all types of skin.

I can also offer Lavender oil for men who prefer a less sweet aroma :)

Do note that sandalwood oil is safe for pregnant women.
